Tomorrow i'll look at the serial numbers. My dip was only .008", and it was concentrated around the cutterhead, which leads me to think mine might be a result of wear.

1/16 seems like a lot, i can see that driving you bonkers.mckenziehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03338448205297418118noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4151311815241629829.post-17461291199768619672012-01-29T16:50:03.849-08:002012-01-29T16:50:03.849-08:00the grinder marks are still quite visible everywhe...the grinder marks are still quite visible everywhere on the face of the fence, and the bow is quite severe (about 1/16"). it's probably just some stresses that have come out of the castings after they ground it flat.
what year is your jointer from? mine's from '76. i'm just wondering if they might have been rushing some castings towards the end of the business...jbreauhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04172943907503737238noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4151311815241629829.post-49672512766800934862012-01-29T13:19:11.713-08:002012-01-29T13:19:11.713-08:00Hey Jbreau,

Damn you Poitras! Originally, i called my friend to see if he knew anyone in town with a grinder that could handle the size. He told me to bring it by and he'd hit it with his mill, i was a bit skeptical until i saw the work they produced. Pretty amazing stuff.

Tylermckenziehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03338448205297418118noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4151311815241629829.post-89720029919543789232012-01-29T12:35:18.580-08:002012-01-29T12:35:18.580-08:00jesus.
