Getting close to the end I just have to make the fence, and apply some finish. There's been a couple times when i've wanted to take some short cuts on this project, i opted not to, because i know i would regret it.
Glue up.
Levelers
Cabinet build.
Fronts.
Inside workings.
Now i just have to find a suitable place to put it in my congested shop.

That's really spiffy. I particularly like the way the box-jointed legs look -- worthy of any number of applications in contemporary pieces. HHHMM. . . I may have to keep that in mind:)

I like your switch in the door idea. Can you turn it off with your knee?
ReplyDeleteThanks Chris,
ReplyDeleteI have a walker turner 14 bandsaw, that needed a stand, its design is very similar. It is made from alder, the over sized box joints where easier to work with in the softer wood. But given the choice i'd rather have eastern maple.

Darnell, you're right it's designed to be at knee height so can you can bump shut off. The switch is made by Freud, i wish the switch was a bit larger.

It must be nice having time to invest in projects like that, looks like it might be nice to have a larger shop tho, just to have some breathing room

ReplyDeleteI could use a larger shop. You should get your boss to rent me some space in his 30000sq ft house, maybe i'd even let you use my machines!
